Megan and Evan

Legare Waring House

May 25, 2012

What a way to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend…we began it at the Legare Waring House on Friday, May 25th. The couple- Megan and Evan- are so sweet and so in love…we were so thrilled to be a part of their special day!

They were married under the avenue of oaks and in all honesty couldn’t have asked for a better day- the sun was filtering through the tree’s throughout the ceremony …it was just stunning.

Megan’s color palette of purples and whites came together beautifully…..

The aisle was framed with our white shepards hooks with hanging floral vases, the couple was married on an elevated platform and framed off with these beautiful sprays of purple and white gladiola’s. The Wedding programs were letterpressed by the super talented Heather Forsythe of Sixpence Press.

The Tent was lined in white, with our crystal chandeliers and perimeter lighting on dimmers for adjustment throughout the evening.

Centerpieces of white flowers on eggplant linens was stunning…to add to the design our florist-added pearls to each of the floral containers.

A White Plantation Bar served as the drink station where a wonderful variety of non alcoholic drinks were offered in our drink dispensers.

The bar and these umbrella tables overlooked the lagoon…..where alligators are often seen:)

The inside of the Legare Waring housed photographs of the bride and grooms parents, along with the cake.

The Cake was designed by Elaine Mincey and was inspired by Megan’s gown.

It was a gorgeous day, a gorgeous wedding and a great party! Our thanks to our vendors:

Julie Ann and Gabrielle from Legare Waring House, Mosaic for the fabulous food, Elaine Mincey for the stunning cake, Sixpence Press for the custom signage and wedding programs, Atlantic Tent’s for the beautiful tent, BBJ Linen, Hal from Lee Edwards Entertainment, and our wonderful floral team headed by Judy Johnston.

Congratulations Megan and Evan- we are so excited for you!

Laurel and Daniel

I’on Creek Club

Laurel & Daniel

Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Laurel and Daniel began their new life together on this festive day…

As a nod to the holiday,  Laurel wanted to incorporate the Papel Picado flags into the design of their day.  As part of the Wedding planning process we discussed the options and decided to incorporate it into their wedding stationary, the cake design and a few banners hanging at the reception. The color palette of tiffany blue, grey, and yellow was beautiful for spring and looked great the Creek Club at I’on.

One of the ways we brought in the aqua blue color was using the antique ball jars that Daniel’s mother and family all had in their collections…they made fabulous containers for centerpieces- and to add to the design our florist Judy Johnston fashioned budvases to match.

We wanted to “cozy up” the porch and added pale yellow draping to the existing columns, hung our crystal chandeliers, created candlescapes on the fireplace threshold and added sofa seating as well.

The cake was designed by Elaine Mincey which included her famous Sugar Magnolia’s which was used as a design element on Laurel and Daniel’s save the dates, and some of the Papel picado flags hanging from the cake.

Linens were grey shantung and Nile Blue Lamour from BBJ Linens- we added custom fabric runners to many of the tables and custom throw pillows in a light grey, dark grey and off white paisley print.

Our Congratulations to the happy couple!

Our many thanks to the following vendors:

Lea Dales for these set up  photo’s, The Creek Club at I’on for the venue and catering, BBJ Linens, Eventworks rentals, Elaine Mincey for the cake, Lee Edwards Entertainment for the DJ service, Firecracker Bill for the rental tree’s, Heather at Sixpence Press for the fabulous invitations, wedding programs and reception signage; and last but definitely not least- our own Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral designs!

We are excited to get photo’s from Karyn Iserman – photographer- highlighting more images from this special day…..we will share them with you soon!

Gina and Jaime

Ion Creek Club

Friday, April 20, 2012

If you dream of a lowcountry wedding on the water then the I’on Creek Club may be the place for you.

It captured the eye of Gina and Jamie for their spring wedding. We were pleased to assist with their wedding design and be a part of their special day. Below- you see Gina headed down the aisle with her dad – thanks to the great photography of Mic Smith! We framed the “altar” area with wrought iron stands filled with beautiful yellow flowers- gladiolas’, roses, calla lilies, lillies and charleston greenery. The aisle was framed with our white shepards hooks with hanging yellow mum pomander balls.

As guests entered the reception area they were informed of the tapas style station menu’s with our chalkboard and easel.

Using cocktail style seating with green linens, navy runners and yellow flowers- spring had sprung!

In lieu of wedding cake- Gina and Jamie chose cupcakes from The Cake Stand and we embellished their look with cupcake wrappers in their colors and displayed them on our glass tower, and on our glass cake stands. We further added to everyones sugar fix by incorporating white candies in specialty jars.

The decor on the porch also incoporated our asian lanterns which were fun and white in the daylight; but also added to the atmosphere after dark when they had a charming amber glow.

You can also see our sofa seating area, coffee table, end table and lamp in use in the photo below.

Many thanks to Gina and Jamie for incoporating us into their special day.

We would also like to thank our vendors: I’on Creek Club, The Cake Stand, Mic Smith Photography, Eventworks, BBJ linen for all their help in creating this special day for Gina and Jamie.

Elizabeth and Chris

Old Exchange Building

April 14, 2012

Want a wedding that is a Charleston Wedding through and through? Well take a look at Elizabeth and Chris’ wedding below- We were excited to be a part of their Wedding Planning process- we worked together for about 18 months planning this big day and enjoyed every minute!

They held their ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church- it is such a historic and beautiful church located on Hasell Street- we don’t have photo’s of the church yet but will share them with you when we do!

They followed that up with a reception at the Old Exchange Building….this building has such history, the declaration of independence was ratified in South Carolina in this building; George Washington attended balls at this building, and it also has a dungeon where pirates were kept. A must see if you visit Charleston!

Old Exchange Building

Guest were greeted by costumed guides that offered tours of the dungeon during the first 1/2hour of cocktails; below you can see photo’s of the first floor room in the hall where we had hors d’oeuvres and a specialty drink of Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade- and finished off with a personalized tag and ribbon band – Tag was designed by Studio R Designs.

We were fortunate to have a Jim Smeal designed wedding cake as the dessert that evening- Jim incoporated into the design the design of the damask linens and their new “B” monogram- Thank you Jim for a gorgeous and delicious cake!

We “decked the hall” with beautiful blue damask linens, black chivari chairs, white floral containers filled with white hydrangea, blue delphinium, white calla lillies, and white dendrobium orchids. We also added beautiful charleston greenery and floral sprays to the existing mantles.

We want to thank Elizabeth and Chris and their families for allowing us to be a part of their special weekend- The weather was great, the food was fantastic, and everyone enjoyed this true Charleston experience!

Many thanks to our vendors: Robbin Knight Photography for these images,  Studio R Designs, Eventworks, Jim Smeal, Mosaic Catering, Soulfish, and the Old Exchange for helping us created a fabulous event for these great families!

We were thrilled when Jessica from Magnolia Plantation

asked us to help stage a photo shoot at the Conservatory.

We have been waiting dress up the conservatory because we think it is so unique!

The purple we chose just happened to match the blooming azalea’s perfect!

In case you aren’t familiar with the Conservatory we took some before and after photos…

Before…

After…

this photo shoot would not have been possible without our amazing vendors!

Thank you so much Eventworks, Cakes by Kasarda, Judy Johnston, and Lea Dales!
