The Veranda at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

The Bahama’s are beautiful and quite often the location for many a couple’s destination wedding. This time however, our couple was from the Bahama’s and a true Southern Plantation Wedding was their dream…..We enjoyed wedding planning with Leah and Justin and wish them many years of happiness!

Choosing  a color palette of blush pink, sage green and rustic wood accents – Leah, the Bride, wanted a relaxed, soft and garden style wedding.

She chose the Veranda at Magnolia Plantation as her reception location- with the ceremony held on the White Bridge Lawn ( with one of the most photographed plantation bridges in the world as her backdrop!), and reserved the back lawn behind the main house as well for late evening dancing.

As a unique twist we also reserved the maze garden adjacent to the White Bridge Lawn for a passed hors d’oeuvres, prosecco tower, Lemonade, Sweet Tea, and Cucumber Water Cocktail Hour. Guests enjoyed the cocktail hour here and made their way to the Veranda for dinner as the sun was setting.

The Engaging Events Chalkboard served as a directional sign to guests throughout the evening.

Dinner on the veranda was Family Style, and the decor featured sage green linens, blush pink dupioni runners and napkins. Centerpieces of peonies, garden roses, hydrangae, ranunculous and floating candles were just breathtaking.

Decor: Lighting was composed of Engaging Events pendant lampshades embellished with sage green and pink ribbon; draping of pale pink fabric on the porch columns; and hanging lanterns added to the atmosphere.

After Dinner, guests retired to the dance tent which “blushed” pale pink throughout the evening!

Fun linens from The Total Table had embroidered circles in her pale pink and pale coral scheme. Engaging Events Crystal chandeliers also lit up the tent, while our sofa seating area’s kept the space comfy!

Many thanks to all our vendors that made this event possible: Magnolia Plantation, Atlantic Tents, Eventworks, Elaine Mincey, Relish Catering, The Total Table, BBJ Linens, Lee Edwards Entertainment, Clelia Reardon, Kenneth Campbell of Presentation Services, and as always our wonderful Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral creations!

We were thrilled when Jessica from Magnolia Plantation

asked us to help stage a photo shoot at the Conservatory.

We have been waiting dress up the conservatory because we think it is so unique!

The purple we chose just happened to match the blooming azalea’s perfect!

In case you aren’t familiar with the Conservatory we took some before and after photos…

this photo shoot would not have been possible without our amazing vendors!

Thank you so much Eventworks, Cakes by Kasarda, Judy Johnston, and Lea Dales!

Engaging Events went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations! We had a specific vision for our wedding and Cindy was able to make it a reality. Never losing sight of our vision and specific requests, Cindy kept us on budget while ensuring the tiniest of details were in place. Our wedding day was entirely stress-free and enjoyable, and I had full confidence in her and her team. She works with professional vendors who I would venture to say are the best in the business. Every detail was perfect, from the flowers, to the matching table runners and bar covers, to the sea oats surrounding our cupcake tier. Cindy is a dream to work with and truly became our friend. She listened to our desires and wishes and provided us with options on how to incorporate just what we wanted. I wanted to be very involved in the planning process, but with Cindy behind the wheel, I was able to let go and put all my trust into Engaging Events, knowing our wedding was going to be spectacular. Engaging Events is truly the cream of the crop when it comes to wedding planning and I honestly cannot say enough great things to do justice for Engaging Events.

The Veranda at Magnolia Plantation

Sarah and Jared were married on the white bridge lawn at Magnolia Plantation.

This is one of the most photographed foot bridges in the lowcountry…They followed the ceremony with Cocktails, Hors D’oeuvres and Lawn Games on the Veranda and Front Lawn.  Upon sunset..guests were ushered to the back lawn where Southern Oak Trees, tents, bistro lighting and candlelight greeted them…along with great food from Duvall, Dance Music, Cupcakes from Elaine’s Events and the super fun photo booth from Olive Productions.

A great time was had by all – we hope you enjoy these sneak peeks..see more of this great event on our Scrapbook!

The Engaging Events Chalkboard served as a directional piece as well as a schedule of events.

The back lawn behind the veranda created a wonderful garden party feel…as did the lounge seating and umbrella tables from Eventworks!

Elaine Mincey provided wonderful cupcakes and a small cake for the ceremonial cutting.

Congratulations Sarah and Jared!

The Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation

September 24, 2011

Congratulations to Nicole and Hector married one month ago at Magnolia Plantation!

It was a very challenging day for our crew, as the weather wasn’t the clear sky, sunny, warm day we had all hoped for.

During the afternoon we had quite the downpour and the remainder of the late afternoon brought showers on and off.

This is a bride’s worst nightmare when planning a ceremony riverside under a beautiful old oak tree.

However, Nicole and Hector had Engaging Events on their side!

We had advised them to get a tent to cover the patio, just in case of such a scenario. We took it right down to the wire in terms of timing.

We had originally discussed making a decision on the location of the ceremony(under the tree or under the tent) 30 minutes prior to guest arrival.

When watching radar online it quickly became obvious that the decision was not going to be clear cut that far out.

With their agreement we stretched that timeline– literally making the decision 15 minutes before the ceremony was to begin. Our waiting paid off…..

Nicole and Hector were married riverside, under a beautiful old oak tree, with the sun out…during the “kiss” it started to sprinkle…and I prayed once again for just a few more moments!

Well, the man upstairs delivered…and not only with holding off the rain for a little more time….but as Nicole and Hector recessed down the aisle..the Most Amazing, Vibrant, Brilliantly Romantic RAINBOW…YES RAINBOW I have ever seen appeared overtop of that beautiful old oak tree.

Sometimes a special couple and a team of wedding planners just get lucky!

I don’t often do this – here on the blog – but my many many thanks and kudo’s to the Engaging Events crew for making this couples dream ceremony happen!

Many Thanks to Elaine Mincey for creating this wonderfully yummy cake with the linen design piped on….

Our wonderful florist – Judy Johnson – created centerpieces from inspiration photo’s provided by Nicole..

….blooming branches, hydrangae and votive candles were one style of centerpiece, and submerged orchids and branches with floating candles fashioned the other tables.

The Engaging Events team provided fabric draping throughout the space softening its rustic architecture.

Engaging Events sofa seating framed the dance floor creating a lounge feel.

The Patio we tented as a ceremony back up location was allowed to house seating, food stations and bench seating as originally planned.

The Engaging Events crystal chandeliers added an element of formality to the area.

Once again, our congratulations to Nicole and Hector…..we wish them many many years of happiness and RAINBOWS!!!!

Charleston Wedding Magazine

Engaging Events is so excited to have two weddings in the Spring/Summer 2011 Issue of Charleston Wedding Magazine!

Chloe and Preston met in Spain and when they began planning their wedding they wanted to incorporate details special to them.  They had met in Spain so it only seemed appropriate to tie in Spanish details!

The ceremony under an oak tree with church pews, umbrellas, and hand fans to keep guest cool in August heat.

At the reception, everyone enjoyed family, friends, Spanish inspired food and great music,
