Vow Renewal

This fall we are thrilled to be planning another Vow Renewal!  After 30 years of marriage, the couple will be celebrating with a weekend of events on Kiawah Island.  The ceremony and party will both be held at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.

Here’s a peek at there gorgeous invitations designed by Studio R and the art work was created by the bride’s daughter who is studying graphic design.  Together they created an amazing invitation!

This will be our second vow renewal at Kiawah Island, last summer we had a 20 year Vow Renewal at the Sanctuary Hotel on Kiawah.  Not only is Kiawah Island an amazing place to have your wedding or host the PGA Golf Tournament, it’s also a fabulous place to have your Vow Renewal!

We are happy to announce another feature on the Wedding Row!

Kristen and John we’re married in November 2012 at Johns Island Presbyterian Church,

followed by a reception at the Ocean Course Club House on Kiawah Island.

Congratulations Cassidy and and Trevor for being featured on A Paper Proposal, a new and emerging blog offering fresh ideas and trends for today’s brides.

Their engagement session, taken by MCG Photography, was at Cinder Creek Pavilion on Kiawah Island.

We are so excited about their wedding at Cassique on Kiawah Island this June!

Charleston Weddings Magazine

We are so excited to be featured not once but twice in the latest issue of Charleston Weddings Magazine!

This past summer we were so happy to be apart of a 20 year vow renewal at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.  The two day event began with a welcome party when guests arrived to the island, followed the next day with the Vow Renewal ceremony, dinner, and dancing by candle light.  How romantic!

Secondly our favorite florist, Judy Johnston did the flowers for the photo shoot featured in the magazine.  Not only can her work be seen in the magazine, but more images of the flowers can be seen online at http://www.charlestonmag.com/weddings/main.

In the latest issue of Charleston Weddings Magazine, Engaging Events was featured in an article about planning your Vow Renewal, based on the 20 year vow renewal we did this past summer at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island!

“A vow renewal ceremony is so special because it celebrates where the couple has been, where they are now, and where they want to be,” says Cindy Zingerella of Engaging Events. When Sonya and Robert, married 20 years, wanted to commemorate the spot of their first kiss (outside the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island), they hired Cindy to create the “wedding” Sonya had always dreamed of. Cindy created a flower-filled setting that framed the couple as they spoke their vows and threw an elegant dinner resplendent in white.”

Louisa, Mother of the Bride

I truly cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work in making Lanier and Kyle’s wedding the outstanding success it was. It was so gratifying to see every detail come together so perfectly at the end. The few minor glitches went unnoticed by all thanks to your expertise. I can truly say that if I had tried to do this on my own, they would have had to put me away. I did not appreciate at the onset how many details have to be addressed in planning a wedding. As I told you, the one word we keep hearing to describe the event is “perfection” …all due to you!

Tristan, Mother of the Bride

One last Thank You to you and all your helpers for an absolutely wonderful wedding weekend for Anne and Steve! Everything about it- including the weather- was exactly what they (we all) wanted. We will all have many happy memories of beautiful flowers, fabulous food, happy guests and a glowing Bride & Groom to last a lifetime!

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island

October 1, 2011

A second chance at love…..I think we all love those kind of stories….Jessi and I were thrilled to be a part of one last month.

Nancy and Ken were married at St. Andrews Church on Ashley River Road in an intimate ceremony with just immediate family;

and then celebrated with all their family and friends at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.

Nancy had lost her first husband of many years a couple years ago and had prayed she would find someone to share the rest of her life with.

Well her prayers were answered when she met Ken- a sweet guy with a great sense of humor.

It was our pleasure to get to know them both and be a part of such a special day in their lives.

Nancy chose a color palette of copper and dusty purple- our florist Judy Johnston created show stopping florals to coordinate

with mixed arrangements of copper flowers and submerged copper orchids.

The couple chose a food station/tapas style reception and the Atlantic Room housed a shrimp & grits station as well as a

beef tenderloin carving station with potatoes au gratin and roasted fall vegetables.

The centerpiece for the room was the Engaging Events glass tower with sugar rimmed champagne glasses garnished with a fresh blueberry and a wonderful array of cheeses and fruits.

At the far end of the room Engaging Events and the Ocean Course created a beautiful delectable display of petite desserts in lieu of a wedding cake.

Creme Brulee, Pecan Tarts, Key Lime Tarts, Chocolate Truffles were just some of the wonderful offerings.

We chose beautiful textured copper linens throughout the reception with accents of the dusty purple twist linens.

Outside on the porch guests enjoyed a grilled fish and risotto station, a beautiful mahogany bar and a dance tent accented with Engaging Events

crystal chandeliers, dusty purple fabric draping accents, sofa seating with dusty purple throw pillows and Engaging Events

lantern clusters (these brown lanterns are new to our inventory this fall season:))

It was a great pleasure for the Ocean Course to host this wedding reception as well- as the couple spent much of their courtship on dates at the clubhouse restaurant.

The staff of the Ocean Course and Engaging Events is so happy for these two lovebirds and wish them many happy years to come…

Many thanks to the Ocean Course for the fabulous setting and food, Judy Johnston for the gorgeous florals, and King Street Studios for some of these detail shots.
