After months of planning, Katie and Bobby’s “Sharing the Romance” Wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens came together on February 9th, 2013.
What better way to show off the lovely details and thank all of the vendors for their generous donations and hardwork than to feature their wedding on the Wedding Row and in the Post and Courier on Valentines Day!
Katie and Bobby found out they won giveaway hosted by Magnolia Plantation and Gardens last August. Katie and Bobby were both deloyed in Afaganistan when they heard about the giveaway with special permission were able to see each other to make their video submission that put them in the running for the $50,000 wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Once they made it into the top four their families began campainging for them here in the states, while across the world in Afganistan, friends of Katie and Bobby were also voting and the rest is history!
We were so honored to be apart of such a special day and wish all the best to Katie and Bobby. Congratulations to you both! Harbourside East

Shannon & Philip
A stunning venue, a stunning view, a stunning bride and groom……we were so thrilled to be a part of Shannon and Philip’s wedding day!
Held overlooking Charleston Harbor and the Cooper River Bridge they were married under a chuppah of white fabric and purple and white blossoms. A custom aisle runner bearing their initials, and framed with rose petals, was a beautiful walkway for the bridal party entrance. To add to the beauty of the setting we added Umbrella’s to shield guests from the sun and add to the garden feel.
Upon conclusion of the sweet ceremony, guests proceeded to the reception site via a lantern lined walkway along the harbor. They then took the stairs to the patio of Harborside East. They were greeted with a specialty cocktail and two tents with custom fabric draping and crystal chandeliers. The color palette of smoky purple, black and white was gorgeous! We added to the outdoor feel stringing cafe lighting between the two tents creating an open air cafe feel.
The inside of Harborside East has a distinct style that Shannon loved and we wanted to enhance – we embellished the existing chandeliers with orchid strands and little purple acolytes, hung custom fabric draping in the smoky purple color ….the result …a gorgeous room!
We were so thrilled to coordinate this wedding not only because it was a fabulous couple but because we are so excited that Harborside East has reopened…it is a great waterfront venue and we look forward to bringing you more Harborside East Events soon…
Many thanks to our vendors:
Lindy- Harborside East, BBJ linens, The Total Table linens, Photographer- Taylor Stewart, Jim Smeal- Wedding Cake, Mike and the guys at Atlantic Tents, Eventworks, The Root Doctors Band, Studio R – Wedding Invitations, and as always our wonderful floral team- headed by Judy Johnston.

Laurel & Daniel
Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Laurel and Daniel began their new life together on this festive day…
As a nod to the holiday, Laurel wanted to incorporate the Papel Picado flags into the design of their day. As part of the Wedding planning process we discussed the options and decided to incorporate it into their wedding stationary, the cake design and a few banners hanging at the reception. The color palette of tiffany blue, grey, and yellow was beautiful for spring and looked great the Creek Club at I’on.
One of the ways we brought in the aqua blue color was using the antique ball jars that Daniel’s mother and family all had in their collections…they made fabulous containers for centerpieces- and to add to the design our florist Judy Johnston fashioned budvases to match.
We wanted to “cozy up” the porch and added pale yellow draping to the existing columns, hung our crystal chandeliers, created candlescapes on the fireplace threshold and added sofa seating as well.
The cake was designed by Elaine Mincey which included her famous Sugar Magnolia’s which was used as a design element on Laurel and Daniel’s save the dates, and some of the Papel picado flags hanging from the cake.
Linens were grey shantung and Nile Blue Lamour from BBJ Linens- we added custom fabric runners to many of the tables and custom throw pillows in a light grey, dark grey and off white paisley print.
Our Congratulations to the happy couple!
Our many thanks to the following vendors:
Lea Dales for these set up photo’s, The Creek Club at I’on for the venue and catering, BBJ Linens, Eventworks rentals, Elaine Mincey for the cake, Lee Edwards Entertainment for the DJ service, Firecracker Bill for the rental tree’s, Heather at Sixpence Press for the fabulous invitations, wedding programs and reception signage; and last but definitely not least- our own Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral designs!
We are excited to get photo’s from Karyn Iserman – photographer- highlighting more images from this special day…..we will share them with you soon!
The Veranda at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens
May 5, 2012
The Bahama’s are beautiful and quite often the location for many a couple’s destination wedding. This time however, our couple was from the Bahama’s and a true Southern Plantation Wedding was their dream…..We enjoyed wedding planning with Leah and Justin and wish them many years of happiness!
Choosing a color palette of blush pink, sage green and rustic wood accents – Leah, the Bride, wanted a relaxed, soft and garden style wedding.
She chose the Veranda at Magnolia Plantation as her reception location- with the ceremony held on the White Bridge Lawn ( with one of the most photographed plantation bridges in the world as her backdrop!), and reserved the back lawn behind the main house as well for late evening dancing.
As a unique twist we also reserved the maze garden adjacent to the White Bridge Lawn for a passed hors d’oeuvres, prosecco tower, Lemonade, Sweet Tea, and Cucumber Water Cocktail Hour. Guests enjoyed the cocktail hour here and made their way to the Veranda for dinner as the sun was setting.
The Engaging Events Chalkboard served as a directional sign to guests throughout the evening.
Dinner on the veranda was Family Style, and the decor featured sage green linens, blush pink dupioni runners and napkins. Centerpieces of peonies, garden roses, hydrangae, ranunculous and floating candles were just breathtaking.
Decor: Lighting was composed of Engaging Events pendant lampshades embellished with sage green and pink ribbon; draping of pale pink fabric on the porch columns; and hanging lanterns added to the atmosphere.
After Dinner, guests retired to the dance tent which “blushed” pale pink throughout the evening!
Fun linens from The Total Table had embroidered circles in her pale pink and pale coral scheme. Engaging Events Crystal chandeliers also lit up the tent, while our sofa seating area’s kept the space comfy!
Many thanks to all our vendors that made this event possible: Magnolia Plantation, Atlantic Tents, Eventworks, Elaine Mincey, Relish Catering, The Total Table, BBJ Linens, Lee Edwards Entertainment, Clelia Reardon, Kenneth Campbell of Presentation Services, and as always our wonderful Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral creations!

If you dream of a lowcountry wedding on the water then the I’on Creek Club may be the place for you.
It captured the eye of Gina and Jamie for their spring wedding. We were pleased to assist with their wedding design and be a part of their special day. Below- you see Gina headed down the aisle with her dad – thanks to the great photography of Mic Smith! We framed the “altar” area with wrought iron stands filled with beautiful yellow flowers- gladiolas’, roses, calla lilies, lillies and charleston greenery. The aisle was framed with our white shepards hooks with hanging yellow mum pomander balls.
As guests entered the reception area they were informed of the tapas style station menu’s with our chalkboard and easel.
Using cocktail style seating with green linens, navy runners and yellow flowers- spring had sprung!
In lieu of wedding cake- Gina and Jamie chose cupcakes from The Cake Stand and we embellished their look with cupcake wrappers in their colors and displayed them on our glass tower, and on our glass cake stands. We further added to everyones sugar fix by incorporating white candies in specialty jars.
The decor on the porch also incoporated our asian lanterns which were fun and white in the daylight; but also added to the atmosphere after dark when they had a charming amber glow.
You can also see our sofa seating area, coffee table, end table and lamp in use in the photo below.
Many thanks to Gina and Jamie for incoporating us into their special day.
We would also like to thank our vendors: I’on Creek Club, The Cake Stand, Mic Smith Photography, Eventworks, BBJ linen for all their help in creating this special day for Gina and Jamie.
20 Year Vow Renewal
June 16, 2011
The Sanctuary, Kiawah Island Resort
We were thrilled to be the planners for a 20 year vow renewal in June at The Sanctuary.
It was a beautiful day for a special couple, and their wonderful family and friends. Their story is a truly romantic one,
to simply renew the promises they made 20 years ago, overlooking the ocean, a setting that has been so much a part of their past.
They chose a cake that was inspired from basket designs of American Indians- a part of their heritage.
Many thanks to Elaine Mincey for this beautiful and delicious cake.

The guests were greeted with the beautiful aroma of gardenia’s upon arrival to the cocktail hour at the beautiful Ocean Room Restaurant.
Guests were treated to luxurious table settings including silk linens, hammered glass charger plates with gold rim,
letterpressed menu cards presented in ivory bengaline napkins and once again the beautiful aroma of a gardenia.
The table names were street’s the couple had lived on in the past or had special meaning to them.
They were presented on a 100% cotton paper calligraphied by Gayle Hilton of Calligraphy by Request.

Following dinner- the adults moved to the Grand Oaks Ballroom for Candlelight Dancing. They were treated to rich ivory tones and textures,
with lounge seating areas, Cabaret Seating, gorgeous flowers and dramatic floral tree’s with hanging crystals and votive candles.

It was a beautiful June evening, so having access to the patio from the Grand Oaks Ballroom was an added treat.
Engaging Events lounge furniture, lamps, additional cabaret tables and fabric draping from the pergola above
created a cozy welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening.

We were so glad to be a part of their special day and want to thank the wonderful staff of the Sanctuary,
Eventworks, Snyder Event Rentals, and Kenneth from Presentation Services for all of their help, and products to assist us in creating such a gorgeous event.
