After months of planning, Katie and Bobby’s “Sharing the Romance” Wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens came together on February 9th, 2013.

What better way to show off the lovely details and thank all of the vendors for their generous donations and hardwork than to feature their wedding on the Wedding Row and in the Post and Courier on Valentines Day!

Katie and Bobby found out they won giveaway hosted by Magnolia Plantation and Gardens last August.  Katie and Bobby were both deloyed in Afaganistan when they heard about the giveaway with special permission were able to see each other to make their video submission that put them in the running for the $50,000 wedding in Charleston, South Carolina.  Once they made it into the top four their families began campainging for them here in the states, while across the world in Afganistan, friends of Katie and Bobby were also voting and the rest is history!

We were so honored to be apart of such a special day and wish all the best to Katie and Bobby.  Congratulations to you both!  Thank you to all of the vendors who helped make this event possible, Magnolia Plantation, Charleston Wedding Magazine,  Snyder, EventWorks, Vanity Salon, Fabulous Frocks, Mosaic Catering, Tiger Lily Florist, Judy Johnston of Engaging Events, Ice Box, Complete Music, Mel of Richard Bell Photography, Classical Charleston, Mist-a-Misquito, Atlantic Tent, Charleston Place Hotel, Scotti Cline Designs, Calligraphy by Request, Davids Tuxedo, Elaine Mincey “Elaines Events”, and A Charleston Wedding.

Cassique on Kiawah Island

June 2, 2012

If  you love color, geometric patterns, and a bit of a modern flair in design you will love Cassidy and Trevors Wedding.

We were thrilled to be the wedding planners for their special weekend. They kicked off the weekend with a welcome dinner at The Sandcastle on Kiawah Island.

The Wedding Ceremony took place on the lawn of the Cassique Clubhouse with a beautiful view of the course and the lagoon. We had a picture perfect day- blue skies, and comfortable temperatures. The ceremony took place in front of an arbor built by the bride’s father. Our floral designer – Judy Johnston finished it off with beautiful colorful blossoms and Charleston Greenery.

Guests and bridal party enjoyed cocktails and hors d’eouvres in the beautiful Garden leading to the reception tent.

The Reception Tent was fashioned with grey linens and turqoise accents including the chevron patterned turquoise fabric as throw pillows, pendant shade covers, and runners. A custom monogram created by Studio R Designs was used to create a custom gobo that spot-lit above the band all evening.

The cake was designed by Elaine Mincey-the inspiration for the design was taken from the Bride’s wedding invitation which contained several geometric patterns.

Thank you to Cassidy and Trevor for including us in their fabulous wedding weekend!

Legare Waring House

May 25, 2012

What a way to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend…we began it at the Legare Waring House on Friday, May 25th. The couple- Megan and Evan- are so sweet and so in love…we were so thrilled to be a part of their special day!

They were married under the avenue of oaks and in all honesty couldn’t have asked for a better day- the sun was filtering through the tree’s throughout the ceremony …it was just stunning.

Megan’s color palette of purples and whites came together beautifully…..

The aisle was framed with our white shepards hooks with hanging floral vases, the couple was married on an elevated platform and framed off with these beautiful sprays of purple and white gladiola’s. The Wedding programs were letterpressed by the super talented Heather Forsythe of Sixpence Press.

The Tent was lined in white, with our crystal chandeliers and perimeter lighting on dimmers for adjustment throughout the evening.

Centerpieces of white flowers on eggplant linens was stunning…to add to the design our florist-added pearls to each of the floral containers.

A White Plantation Bar served as the drink station where a wonderful variety of non alcoholic drinks were offered in our drink dispensers.

The bar and these umbrella tables overlooked the lagoon…..where alligators are often seen:)

The inside of the Legare Waring housed photographs of the bride and grooms parents, along with the cake.

The Cake was designed by Elaine Mincey and was inspired by Megan’s gown.

It was a gorgeous day, a gorgeous wedding and a great party! Our thanks to our vendors:

Julie Ann and Gabrielle from Legare Waring House, Mosaic for the fabulous food, Elaine Mincey for the stunning cake, Sixpence Press for the custom signage and wedding programs, Atlantic Tent’s for the beautiful tent, BBJ Linen, Hal from Lee Edwards Entertainment, and our wonderful floral team headed by Judy Johnston.

Congratulations Megan and Evan- we are so excited for you!

I’on Creek Club

Laurel & Daniel

Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Laurel and Daniel began their new life together on this festive day…

As a nod to the holiday,  Laurel wanted to incorporate the Papel Picado flags into the design of their day.  As part of the Wedding planning process we discussed the options and decided to incorporate it into their wedding stationary, the cake design and a few banners hanging at the reception. The color palette of tiffany blue, grey, and yellow was beautiful for spring and looked great the Creek Club at I’on.

One of the ways we brought in the aqua blue color was using the antique ball jars that Daniel’s mother and family all had in their collections…they made fabulous containers for centerpieces- and to add to the design our florist Judy Johnston fashioned budvases to match.

We wanted to “cozy up” the porch and added pale yellow draping to the existing columns, hung our crystal chandeliers, created candlescapes on the fireplace threshold and added sofa seating as well.

The cake was designed by Elaine Mincey which included her famous Sugar Magnolia’s which was used as a design element on Laurel and Daniel’s save the dates, and some of the Papel picado flags hanging from the cake.

Linens were grey shantung and Nile Blue Lamour from BBJ Linens- we added custom fabric runners to many of the tables and custom throw pillows in a light grey, dark grey and off white paisley print.

Our Congratulations to the happy couple!

Our many thanks to the following vendors:

Lea Dales for these set up  photo’s, The Creek Club at I’on for the venue and catering, BBJ Linens, Eventworks rentals, Elaine Mincey for the cake, Lee Edwards Entertainment for the DJ service, Firecracker Bill for the rental tree’s, Heather at Sixpence Press for the fabulous invitations, wedding programs and reception signage; and last but definitely not least- our own Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral designs!

We are excited to get photo’s from Karyn Iserman – photographer- highlighting more images from this special day…..we will share them with you soon!

The Veranda at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

May 5, 2012

The Bahama’s are beautiful and quite often the location for many a couple’s destination wedding. This time however, our couple was from the Bahama’s and a true Southern Plantation Wedding was their dream…..We enjoyed wedding planning with Leah and Justin and wish them many years of happiness!

Choosing  a color palette of blush pink, sage green and rustic wood accents – Leah, the Bride, wanted a relaxed, soft and garden style wedding.

She chose the Veranda at Magnolia Plantation as her reception location- with the ceremony held on the White Bridge Lawn ( with one of the most photographed plantation bridges in the world as her backdrop!), and reserved the back lawn behind the main house as well for late evening dancing.

As a unique twist we also reserved the maze garden adjacent to the White Bridge Lawn for a passed hors d’oeuvres, prosecco tower, Lemonade, Sweet Tea, and Cucumber Water Cocktail Hour. Guests enjoyed the cocktail hour here and made their way to the Veranda for dinner as the sun was setting.

The Engaging Events Chalkboard served as a directional sign to guests throughout the evening.

Dinner on the veranda was Family Style, and the decor featured sage green linens, blush pink dupioni runners and napkins. Centerpieces of peonies, garden roses, hydrangae, ranunculous and floating candles were just breathtaking.

Decor: Lighting was composed of Engaging Events pendant lampshades embellished with sage green and pink ribbon; draping of pale pink fabric on the porch columns; and hanging lanterns added to the atmosphere.

After Dinner, guests retired to the dance tent which “blushed” pale pink throughout the evening!

Fun linens from The Total Table had embroidered circles in her pale pink and pale coral scheme. Engaging Events Crystal chandeliers also lit up the tent, while our sofa seating area’s kept the space comfy!

Many thanks to all our vendors that made this event possible: Magnolia Plantation, Atlantic Tents, Eventworks, Elaine Mincey, Relish Catering, The Total Table, BBJ Linens, Lee Edwards Entertainment, Clelia Reardon, Kenneth Campbell of Presentation Services, and as always our wonderful Judy Johnston for her fabulous floral creations!

The Historic Rice Mill

October 22, 2011

Laura and Jason tied the knot at The Church of Holy Communion on Ashley Avenue. The church is a beautiful place of worship..but what made it even more beautiful to this fabulous couple was its history….to her family….Laura’s grandparents and parents were also married at this church….what a wonderful tradition for her to make her own….

They followed the wedding with a fantastic reception at the Historic Rice Mill..many thanks to the crew of Good Food Catering for another fantastic event.

Elaine Mincey created the cake; a design featuring “ruffles” of icing…one of Laura’s favorite fashion trends…

We used the Engaging Events lounge furniture in the beautiful Marina room - a room with 3 walls of windows overlooking the marina and harbour. We paired our fun lamps with the sofa seating areas, which were adorned with throw pillows in the custom fabric we used throughout the design of the event. Laura created a fabric on a custom fabric website we then used the pattern as a  band and envelope liner in her invitation suite – created by Studio R Designs. We followed that up with using the fabric for throw pillows, runners and other custom accents. A printable vellum of the pattern to cover our glass cylinders helped to  customize the design of this wedding.

The fabric could even be found on our pendant lights on the patio!

One of our favorite flowers is the orchid and the one shown above is called “Sexy Blue” doesn’t the name just make you want to buy it?!

In any case they looked fantastic paired with the custom runner….

We tented the open patio at the Rice Mill using a white tent with liner and lighting it with the  Engaging Events crystal chandeliers. A White plantation bar from Snyder Event Rentals, and the Engaging Events white back bar shelves added to the patio’s charm. The raw bar provided by Good Food Catering…didn’t hurt the popularity of this spot that nite either:)

We wish Laura and Jason many happy years of marriage and were thrilled to be a part of their day!
