Charlotte and Ty

The Ocean Course at Kiawah

April 16, 2011

blog9

Charlotte and Ty were married on beautiful Kiawah Island overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was an incredibly windy day,

however, it was also a wonderful day because the prediction of rain never materialized- and we were all so thrilled.

blog7 blog8 blog4

Charlotte chose a color palette of apple green, pink and some seersucker in blue. It was a great color scheme for spring

and I think Charlotte’s soft and pretty style and Ty’s preppy style were merged wonderfully – creating a beautiful day!

They and their guests enjoyed cocktails on the patio and tent, followed by dinner in the Atlantic Room,

then back outside to the tent to dance the nite away.

It was a wonderful evening and we were so thrilled to be part of it.

Congratulations Charlotte and Ty!

Anne&steve016

We are so excited to have started the Spring wedding season with Anne and Steve!

Their ceremony was held on the lawn of the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, overlooking the beach and ocean.

We framed off the ceremony area with urns filled with pink hydrangea and regional grasses.

It was a perfect spring day, blue sky, beautiful sunset, and warm ocean breezes.

Anne carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, wrapped with remnants of her mothers wedding gown.

The bride’s beach girl side was incorporated into the gorgeous cake with edible sea shells, by Elaine Mincey.

Many thanks to the Ocean Course staff, Olive Productions, Artistic Eye Productions and Williams Duo for making their day extra special!

Congratulations to Anne and Steve! Best of Luck to you both!

Guests were welcomed to the cocktail hour with Charleston gates featuring blue and cream hydrangaes, charleston lanterns,

and an ” Avenue of Oaks” covered with Spanish moss.

The Charleston theme was carried out at dinner with tables named after Charleston Streets,

the Engaging Events team took black and white photo’s of the street signs, matted and framed them -

they have now become a keepsake for the happy couple!

Special thanks to Studio R for the custom monogram which was used throughout the weekend.

The monogram was used on the cake created by Elaine Mincey,  as well as the specialty cocktails, cocktail napkins, invitations etc.

The crowd danced the nite away to the sounds of the Quiana Parler Band , dined on a delectible surf and turf dinner,

and the couple sent their guests off in style with chocolate truffles from Christophe Artisan Chocolates….wow – what a night!

Congratulations again to Briana and Ben! Best wishes to you both!!

Ashley and Mark

Pepper Plantation

October 23, 2010

Engaging Events was so excited to be apart of Ashley and Mark’s wedding at the rustic Pepper Plantation!

Clemson colors were the inspiration for this fun and energetic lowcountry couple.

The back lawn was a perfect location for the ceremony overlooking the pond, Judy Johnston created a beautiful arrangement of smilax, dahlias, stock, hydrangae

and bittersweet as the focal point leading to the ceremony area.

The back fence was accented with bittersweet, bringing in the vibrant orange.

The color scheme of purple and orange worked great with the rustic barn feel of Pepper Plantation.

Guests enjoyed Bourbon and Cokes and Bourbon and Ginger-Ales (Favorite’s of the Bride and Groom!) after the ceremony,

served in our Mason Jars and displayed on our drink tower.

Our Congratulations to Ashley and Mark- we wish you all the best!

When Kristin and Ryan were planning their wedding they thought vintage.

The ceremony was held on the lawn framed by two floral arrangements and a picture perfect sunset.

Following the ceremony, guests were served Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade while they enjoyed the gorgeous view of the ocean.

Our very own Judy Johnston created Kristin’s bouquet, wrapped with a blue ribbon and two charms engraved with

Kristin and Ryans initials and date.

Jim Smeal created  a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese decorated with two love birds.

When it came time for dancing, everyone headed to the candle lit Ryder Cup Lounge.

At the end of the night, Kristin and Ryan said good-bye in a golf cart before heading to an after party at the Sanctuary.

Many Thanks to Leigh Webber for these fabulous photo’s…and Dorsey Sullivan and the Ocean Course Crew for a job well done!

Magnolia Plantation

We were so happy to be a part of Chloe and Preston’s Wedding…they are a super couple

and their wedding had so many wonderful unique touches!

 Blog blog4

Their ceremony took place under the big beautiful oak at the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation -

overlooking the Ashley River. We utilized Charleston Gates covered with spanish moss, greenery, dendrobium orchids

and planter boxes filled with cream hydrangae as the backdrop for their ceremony.

Their guests enjoyed the ceremony from the authentic Church Pews,

shaded with umbrella’s and decorated with mason jars filled with flowers.

blog2

The Inside of the Carriage House featured the chandeliers decorated with spanish moss, greenery and white blossoms.

We utilized soft aqua blue color linen with an apple green linen and natural wood chairs for a soft and pretty atmosphere.

Engaging Events added to the look by draping fabric over the doorways,

and utilizing sweet grass baskets as containers for her wildflowers.

blog6  blog8

Chloe’s dress and the location were a big inspiration in much of the design.

Studio R created save the dates, invitations and these great bands and seals for her specialty drink

utilizing the lace pattern from her dress and the magnolia blossom to represent  the location.

Elaine Mincey utilized the lace design in the pattern you see on the cake, and then topped it with one of her signature magnolias.

Many thanks to all the vendors who made this nite so magical for Chloe and Preston, and to Taylor Stewart and MCG Photography for the great images!

We were proud to be a part of the wedding of Lee Anne and Phil on May 15th at the Wickliffe House!

The invitation to the wedding was designed by Studio R designs and captured the elegance of Charleston Gates,

the formality of the wedding Lee Anne and Phil were hoping for;

but most of all the design was “Uniquely You” for our special couple!

As guests arrived they continued up the spiral staircase inside the historical Wickliffe House to the ceremony.  The ceremony arrangments were gorgeous!

One of the “Uniquely You” elements of Lee Anne and Phil’s day was a ceremony “in the round” on the 2nd floor of the Wickliffe House.

We brightened up the inside with gold chiavari chairs and champagne linens, while cake was placed on a whimsical, yet elegant, textured linen making it a great focal point in the room.

blog6 blog5

The front porch and the tent were connected utilizing a special tent configuration allowing guests on the porch to view all the action in the tent.

wickliffe tent

We are proud to say this was another “uniquely you” element,

as this tent configuration has never been done in that space and was the brainchild of Designer Cindy Zingerella.

Our many thanks to Atlantic Tents who helped us make this happen!

Who doesn’t love those gorgeous bar shelves from Snyder Party rentals- dressed up of course with a floral creation from our ever talented Judy Johnston!

Katie & Mike

blog

Katie and Mike were married under the avenue of oaks at Legare Waring House at Charles Towne Landing on May 22, 2010.  The oak trees offered a beautiful backdrop accented with yellow gladiolus and blue hydrangeas by our florist Judy Johnston.  The trio from Magnolia Music welcomed guests as they waited for the ceremony to begin and set the mood for an elegant evening.

blog10 blog3 blog4

Our drink tower was filled with vodka lemonade in cobalt blue glasses, garnished with a lemon wedge.  The tower was great entrance piece to the tented reception, and provided guests with a refreshing drink to start the evening!    blog5

These funky pin cushion proteas gave the community table a touch of fun!

blog9

We draped the tent with cobalt blue fabric and accented with touches of yellow.  We dressed up the tent with our crystal chandeliers and framed the dance floor with our sofa’s and coffee tables.  The fountain provided a great focal point and soothing sound during the evening.

blog6

Katie wanted a non traditional wedding cake and decided to go with red velvet and vanilla cupcakes. Since Katie’s dogs couldn’t be a part of the wedding, Elaine Mincey created these minuature dogs to ensure they were a part of Katie and Mike’s special day!

Janis & Dave

Janis & Dave

The William Aiken House

Janis & Dave are a very fun and quirky couple!

Janis is very detail oriented and really knows what she likes.

Dave likes pretty much whatever Janis likes but he also had some special requests for their day.

HoffFaile327-1

I have to say that I am not always a fan of using the bridge over the pond at the William Aiken House -

But the way we used it for Janis and Dave may have changed my mind!

We covered the bridge in white fabric, and then used a custom aisle runner with their monogram and a gold border to finish it off!

Judy and her team created an gorgeous “altar” area using the existing pergola and greenery, roses, lilies, and hydrangea.

- and of course I can’t forget about our wrought iron lanterns that also hung in between the columns of the pergola.

It was all done so tastefully and created such a romantic setting.

As I said, Dave did have some requests of his own ~

One of which was to have a vocalist sing a song or two in Italian during the ceremony.

Anne Marie Fairchild is a local vocalist that I have had the priviledge of hiring  a few times.

She started off the ceremony with Ava Maria and then, during the ceremony,

sang “The Prayer” – and at Dave’s request – in Italian!!!

Thank you Anne Marie!

For the reception ~ Janis liked the 1950′s era and so the florals and textured linens really helped us to create that look.

The Dance Tent did not Disappoint!

We Fashioned the tent with Gold Satin fabric accents and hung our crystal chandeliers…

Judy and her team created beautiful tall and short arrangements  that were just stunning upon entering the tent.

Jennifer & Matt

Wedding: October 23, 2009

Jen & Matt used a color palette of a pistachio green, gold, cream, dark brown and shades of eggplant and purples for their stunning fall wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation.  They started the evening out on the front lawn of the plantation for their ceremony.  Judy created very natural, yet eye catching, arrangements to frame the ceremony area – they contained: branches, eggplant dendrobium orchids, and amaranthus.  Cocktails then followed in the first floor of the house, the patio and tent area.  Engaging Events Sofas and hanging lanterns were the focal point for the patio – and with a beautiful sunset right before dinner…the setting couldn’t have been more perfect or more “Charleston”.   Dinner was held on the 2nd floor of the house, followed by the cake and toasts back downstairs in the first floor ballroom.  The cake had such beautiful details and was absolutely magnificent!  Dancing then followed back in the tent where Quiana Parler definitely helped them work off their dinner!    It’s amazing how her band always packs the dance floor!  Engaging Events Crystal chandeliers hung in the tent creating that historic Charleston romantic lighting that we all love!  The floral arrangements in the tent were the perfect touch ~ we used white chairs and white containers on pistachio linens ~ and filled the containers with eggplant dendrobium orchids ~ It made such a  Pop!  We then finished out the evening with a sparkler send off…
